JLC Ribbon Recipe
Amount of ribbon needed for Christmas tree:
6' tree = 10-30 yards
7.5' tree = 30-50 yards
9' tree = 40-60 yards
12' tree = 70-100 yards
Amount of ribbon needed for JLC 9’ x 20" Base Garland:
10 - 20 yards (Adjust for added feet of garland - 30 yards if you’re extra!)
Combine your favorites for the total yardage listed above.
RIBBONING FAQ's
Like anything aesthetic, the amount of ribbon on your tree is subjective. Some people prefer a whisper of ribboned wonderment and others are in the "go big or go home" category.
Personally, I can create magic with five yards... but look out if I have 50!
The perfectly-right answer for you is dependent on your budget and vision.
That being said, my JLC Ribbon Recipe listed above gives you an idea of how much ribbon you might want to purchase.
You'll need to consider the diameter of your tree, whether you're only ribboning the front, and if you plan on layering your look or if one ribbon will be flying (mostly) solo in your design.
If you're using one of the luxe 5-yard rolls, a little can go a long way if you omit the bows and just loop it down the tree. Many of the looks I create for you are lightly ribboned with two to three rolls on a 7.5-foot to 9-foot tree.
